Support Scrooge with Network for Good

A Great Musical Theater Project!

We are producing quality musical theater in our community, where there is little to none available. Our talented young performing artists are having to move away to find opportunities. We want to provide viable performing opportunities for them here in Southeast Texas! JWCPA is doing just that. A production is coming up December 1 and 2, 2017. Three performances of "The Gospel According to Scrooge".

Upcoming Events “The Gospel According to Scrooge”

JWCPA will begin this year by bringing to Beaumont a fantastic performance of “Mahalia”, a rousing musical about the life of legendary Gospel singer, Mahalia Jackson, written by Tom Stolz. This presentation was in collaboration with Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church of Beaumont, JWCPA and The Ensemble Theater of Houston which recently completed its run to sold-out audiences. After seeing it, I knew we had to bring this musical play with its amazing vocals to our city!

Our second project is “The Gospel According to Scrooge” with music by John A. Worre and Tom Ellie in collaboration with Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church and its Choral Department. This production will include up to 100 actors and technicians. “Scrooge” will be shown December 1st and 2nd of this year with three presentations under the direction of Jonathan Williams. To support this project, JWCPA will host workshops in singing, acting, dance and technical theater to provide youth and adult artists with specific performance skills.

We feel these projects are important to provide performing arts education and quality performing opportunities for youth and adults in our community. JWCPA seeks to cultivate talent and increased access to the arts by cultivating talent and increasing access to the arts in our community. We planned an ambitious inaugural season and we ask you to be one of our premier partners with these exciting performances!
